Mission Partners
Thame Church supports 12 mission partners serving Christ in this country and around the world. We support them through our prayers and our giving. If you would like to receive regular prayer updates from our mission partners please email mission.partners@thame.church
Impact Thame: reaches out to children, young people and their families in Thame and the surrounding villages with the Good News of Jesus. It does this by partnering with local churches and supporting them in their local vision. It organises big fun activities with attractions particularly for those not currently in our churches.
Prison Fellowship UK: Their mission is to show Christ’s love to people in prison and to their families on the outside. We support the annual Angel Tree activity of Prison Fellowship in HMP Bullingdon and HMP Huntercombe. Volunteers in the Oxford branch of the Fellowship buy and send chosen Christmas presents to children of prisoners there, at no cost to those who wish to be involved.
BRF Ministries: the home of Anna Chaplaincy, BRF Resources, Messy Church and Parenting for Faith. As a Christian charity, BRF Ministries inspires, equips and supports people of all ages to grow in faith.
Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW): a human rights organisation which specialises in advocating for religious freedom for everyone. It works on behalf of those persecuted for their Christian beliefs and for those of other beliefs or faiths. CSW’s team of advocates works in 25 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin American and the Middle East. It aims to ensure that the right to freedom of religion or belief is upheld and protected.
UFM in Senegal: Ténébou and Bethan Manga serve the Lord with United for Mission (UFM) in Senegal through medical work, evangelism and discipleship. They are planting a new health clinic and maternity unit in a rural setting outside Ziguinchor. This will enable them to offer quality, compassionate health care in the name of Jesus.
Serving In Mission (SIM): Phil Bauman is International Director of SIM, an international, interdenominational evangelical Christian mission agency with about 4,000 members working in more than 70 countries. Andrea, his wife, is leader of the international personnel coordinators of SIM. Together they bear significant responsibilities as they travel frequently to encourage and guide members in often far-flung locations.
WEC International: Stephen and Catherine McGoldrick, with their children Jacques and Asher, are based in Tanzania. They are mobilisers with WEC Africa and associates of CMS. This is a ministry of WEC that works with local churches in Africa to support them in raising, sending, and supporting their own missionaries within Africa and beyond. Stephen and Catherine are building up a network of WEC Africa mobilisers across East Africa and beyond.
Wycliffe Bible Translators: Thame Church supports two families working with Wycliffe Bible Translators. Their work spans the world and supports translators, typesetters, and their personnel requirements. One family serves in Asia, and Andrew and Janet Sweet are based in Thame. Andrew serves as an HR Specialist looking after Wycliffe’s members. Janet serves with Bible Translation & Literacy, which is based in Kenya, supporting their typesetting of Bibles, and their publishing and archiving.
Daughters of Cambodia: a faith-based charity within International Outreach Ministries (IOM), working in the red-light districts of Phnom Penh. Its staff empowers those trapped in the sex industry to wark free and start a new life with healing, dignity and the means to prosper. It does this by providing ethical jobs in social enterprises coupled with recovery programmes.
Hope for the Living: a joint venture between the Anglican dioceses of Kimberley & Kuruman and of Oxford. It is a Christian charity linked to All Saints church in Homevale township outside Kimberley, where members prepare and deliver monthly food packages to vulnerable families.
Shikhar Hostel: a UK charity which helps relieve poverty in the far West of Nepal. We do this through working closely with a Christian Nepali family, members of which run a safe hostel for young people and an education sponsorship project for the poorest children in the local community.
Barley Hill Church members have supported this project since early in the project – around 2003. It is now supported by the Thame Churches.
