Giving to Thame Church

We value your support

The Thame churches rely on the support of church members to pay for the costs of our clergy and to support the routine running costs of the church. There are many ways to give. If you would prefer to give in another way please contact the church treasurer at treasurer@thame.church. Thank you for your support.

How to give

Single gift

You can make a one-off donation towards the provision of Christian ministry in Thame and Towersey by contributing to one of the three churches. Please click on the appropriate link below.

Regular giving

Regular, committed, giving accounts for almost half of our income and is particularly valuable to help us plan our finances. We encourage church members to give regularly through the Parish Giving Scheme. The Parish Giving Scheme enables you to give monthly, quarterly or annually by direct debit. There are options to increase the value of your gift with Gift Aid, to manage your giving online, to increase your gift once a year by the rate of inflation, and to give anonymously. It also reduces the time spent by our treasurer on administering donations and gift aid.

Join the Parish Giving Scheme

You can join the scheme very easily online by clicking on the button below or by telephone – call 0333 002 1271, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm.

Leaving a gift in your will to help us grow God’s kingdom

Did you know you can leave a gift to the church in your will? We call these gifts legacies because they allow you to make a lasting difference to our church even when you’re no longer physically with us.

We welcome all gifts in wills, however large or small, and we promise to use your gift to make a difference in our parish. When we receive a legacy we commit to using it to achieve our goal of becoming a church that cares for God’s world in everything we do.

As part of our vision for the church, we want to ensure we plan financially for our future so that we can continue to grow our Christian presence in the local community. A legacy would help us go further towards achieving some of our missional goals, like the examples listed on the right.

About our finances

Our finances are managed across the three parishes by the Joint Church Council. In 2025, our total General Fund income was £322,000, most of which was voluntary giving from church members. Over half of our giving is received in the form of planned giving for which we are very thankful. Our total expenditure was £334,000, most of which is accounted for the cost of clergy and other staff costs. We make grants to our mission partners of at least 10% of our voluntary receipts in the prior year.

Proceeds from the Towersey Church Fete and other fundraising activities are used to meet maintenance costs of the St Catherine’s church building and churchyard and other local organisations. We are very grateful to all those who support these activities in so many ways.

Our finances are accounted for within the respective parishes. Full details of each parish accounts can be found in the relevant annual report and accounts which can be downloaded from the buttons below.
