As Thame Church we are committed to ensuring accountability and transparency in all we do, enabled and ensured by our governance structure. Thame Church is one church across two locations and part of the Church of England. We are also a registered charity.

We currently have three PCCs: St Mary’s PCC, St Catherine’s PCC and Barley Hill’s PCC. The Thame Benefice, comprising nine parishes, is proposing to formally unite three of its parishes—St Mary the Virgin (Thame), Barley Hill (Thame), and St Catherine’s (Towersey)—into a single parish. We also have a Joint Church Council which consists of members from all three PCCs, clergy, churchwardens, elected members and Deanery Synod representatives. There is a Standing Committee to discuss specific topics.

The PCC’s & Standing Committee work to enable and ensure the Thame Church team are operating effectively and legally.

Electoral Roll
The PCC members, JCC members and Churchwardens are elected at our Annual Parochial Church Council meetings, which all members of the respective Electoral Rolls are invited to attend. You can see the current JCC members using this link.

To join the church electoral roll, you need to be baptised; and either living within the St Mary’s, Barley Hill or St Catherine’s parishes, or have regularly attended worship at St Mary’s or St Catherine’s for six months or more. You can register via My ChurchSuite.
